What does Medicare Part A&B Cover?
Having looked through many Medicare Supplement Plans, customers tend to find it hard to establish exactly what are their benefit cover in Part A and B. These initial parts of Medicare supplemental Insurance, are also called the Original Medicare. They are designed to cover persons who are regarded as disabled or that have reached or heading the age of 65. In most cases, one must have been an employee of the US for at least ten years for basic qualification to the Medicare coverage.
A person will receive coverage of Part A depending on the contributions, he or she made to Social Security but for Part, B is considered an option for those patients who find it necessary. In detail, Medicare Part A cater for Inpatient care for a period of 90 days admitted in hospital plus 60 reserve days offered once in the lifetime of that person. It also provides cover for Skilled nursing facility for 100 days but one must have been hospitalized for at least three days within the admission period. In addition, Part A offers cover to hospice care once a doctor certifies their medical condition to warrant such services and also supports patients who need home-health care. Part B is more specific. It offers cover to preventive care services, ambulance and X-ray or lab tests services. It gives cover to blood transfusion, durable medical equipment and other therapy services not forgetting outpatient and other industrial therapy services Parts A&B are essential before any Medigap plan.
